Runway Tours – Overview

Enjoy a fascinating flight over the island for you to discover the beauty and charm of the island and to enjoy many breathtaking panoramic views from high above.

The sightseeing flight trip is done on a private basis where you will be sitting alongside the pilot who is there to answer any question you might have and to show you all the sights.

Runway Tours – What to Expect

The departure point for the flight is from the airfield situated at Rivière du Rempart. There you will meet the pilot, be shown to the aircraft and will receive a short briefing before boarding the plane. After you’ve been equipped with your headsets and a radio test, you’ll take to the skies.

Your pilot will ensure that you see the famous landmarks and points of interest as you complete one fascinating circuit around the Northern region of the island. Fly towards the east coast and enjoy panoramic views of the lagoon, green sugarcane fields and uninterrupted Mauritian scenery. A truly unique way of exploring the island.

The flight is done at a low altitude of up to 1500ft to guarantee clear and close view of all sights and landmarks and provide many picture perfect moments (don’t forget to bring a camera!). If you are close enough, and with a bit of luck, you may even spot turtles and whales swimming in the ocean.

After the tour is done, you’ll head back to the airfield where you can play a little game – can you find the runway? The plane will descend slowly and touch down safely, bringing your memorable journey in the skies to an end.

Duo Flight (optional): Should you wish, we will be glad to offer you 2 identical planes which give the opportunity for 2 participants to fly side by side in different planes!

Runway Tours – Important Info

Age Restrictions: 8 years and above (Below 18 years old, one parent needs to sign a consent form).

Weight Restriction: Maximum 110 kg (if close to the maximum limit, the weather conditions will need to be ideal)

Health Restriction: Participants must not be under the influence of alcohol or any drugs.

Minimum Height: None

Number of participants: The sightseeing flight trip is suitable for only one passenger at a time.

Important: We offer a proposed itinerary already for the convenience of our clients but should you wish, we will be glad to also offer a flight itinerary of your choice over North/North East/North West region until the request is feasible.
